Michael Leclerc (United States) – Chief genealogist with Mocavo
Mocavo Chief Genealogist Michael J. Leclerc is an internationally renowned researcher, author, editor, and presenter. He has been researching for almost twenty-five years, and a professional genealogist since 1995 when he joined the staff of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. While there, he supervised the creation of several iterations of the society’s website, including the first version with searchable databases for members.

Moving to the publications area, he was managing editor of numerous compiled genealogies. He was lead editor of the second edition of Genealogical Writing in the 21st Cenutry: A Guide to Register Style and More, and editor of the award-winning fifth edition of Genealogist’s Handbook for New England Research. He edited the weekly electronic newsletter and was a contributing editor for New England Ancestors and American Ancestors magazine, and a consulting editor for the New England Historical and Genealogical Register.

He has been teaching genealogy to audiences large and small for almost twenty years. His audiences have reached from the US and Canada, to England, to Australia.
